The Geoff Ogilvy Foundation (GOF) are delighted to announce the fourth edition of the Sandbelt Invitational will be played December 16-19, 2024.
Commonwealth Golf Club, Woodlands Golf Club, Yarra Yarra Golf Club and the West Course at The Royal Melbourne Golf Club are the venues for the event hosted by major champion Geoff Ogilvy.

The innovative tournament returns for the fourth time to Yarra Yarra and Royal Melbourne and they are joined by first time hosts Commonwealth and Woodlands.

The two new venues underscore the depth and quality of Melbourne’s famed Sandbelt courses, which have been showcased over the previous three Sandbelt Invitationals, where men and women from both the professional and amateur ranks compete alongside one another.

The tournament organisers, and no doubt competitors are grateful for the generosity of this year’s four host clubs, which have so kindly agreed to be a part of the tournament.

The Sandbelt Invitational was created through the Geoff Ogilvy Foundation’s mission to bring together some of the best Australian and international players, with the aim of older and more experienced players passing down their knowledge to a new generation.

The tradition of Australian golfers helping those that follow them harking back to the great Norman Von Nida mentoring the young Peter Thomson who, in turn helped generations of younger Australian golfers.

“The Sandbelt Invitational has already been embraced by many of our best players including Lucas Herbert, Cameron Davis and Grace Kim and it’s such a thrill to see the young players so excited by the chance to play with so many players they’ve only seen on television,” tournament host Ogilvy said.

“Having the opportunity to play some of the finest courses in the country is another tremendous opportunity for the pros early in their careers and amateurs, as well as those of us more experienced players who relish the chance to play tournament golf on the Melbourne Sandbelt.”

In addition to the tournament host, the valued input of Tournament Director Mike Clayton, Press Officer Kathie Shearer and Rules Official Trevor Herden will help create the unique identity of the Sandbelt Invitational again in 2024, when another worthy overall champion will join the honour roll alongside Brady Watt, Cameron Davis and Daniel Gale.
